(SACKVILLE, NB) The rain poured down as the Mounties and Reds' men's soccer players took the field Friday evening at Alumni Field. The Mounties were looking to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to Cape Breton.
A tightly contested and physical first half did not produce a goal. The Reds broke the deadlock with a free kick and header from Luke Rosettani (Ottawa, ON). The Mounties had chances, but UNB was able to put the game away in the 80th minute with a breakaway goal from Keji Adeniyi (London, UK). Player of the Game honours were granted to Luke Rosettani for his difference-making goal.
UNB moves to 6-2-2 on the season and play host to the Cape Breton Capers on Friday October 20th with a 7:15 kick-off. The Mounties (0-7-2) will be home Sunday afternoon, also hosting the Cape Breton Capers, and will have Senior Day acknowledgments prior to a 3:15 kick-off.
