Sackville, NB - The StFX X-Women dominated the Mount Allison Mounties with a 7-2 victory on the road Friday evening.
Kamdyn Switzer, Tea Pearce and Joanna Martinsen all had three-point nights for the X-Women, each posting a goal and two assists.
Kameryn Lahey, Kalle Hastman, Anna MacCara and Mackenzie Lothian also scored for the X-Women.
The visitors got out to a 4-0 first period lead as Lahey and Switzer tallied in the opening four minutes in the game. Hastman scored two minutes later and MacCara rounded out the first period markers as the X-Women outshot the Mounties 18-6.
Lothian scored the lone second period goal on the power play to extend the X lead to 5-0 after 40 minutes of play.STFX held a 31-13 shot advantage through two periods.
The Mounties got on the board with an early third period goal by Hailey Simoneau. Mya Stanfield scored on the power play for Mount A midway through the period.
Martinsen scored on the power play for STFX two minutes later and Pearce rounded out the X-Women scoring.
STFX outshot the Mounties 43-25 as Hanna Pagdato was tagged with the loss in the MtA net.
X-Women goaltender Brooklyn Oakes had 23 saves for the win.
The victory improves the X-Women record to 13-2-3 on the season, while the Mounties fall to 1-16-0.
Mount Allison will be back in action on home ice Saturday night when they host the St. Thomas Tommies. The X-Women will play at home on Friday, January 17th when they host the same Tommies squad.
