(St. John's, N.L.) The Dalhousie Tigers stayed perfect in women and men’s curling at the 2019 Subway AUS Curling Championships from the RE/MAX Centre.
The Mount Allison Mounties defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks twice in 11 ends to advance to the semifinal and earn a spot in the U Sports National Championship later this month. The Mounties tied the Sea-Hawks in the 10th end and stole a point in the 11th end to force the Sea-Hawks into an afternoon tiebreaker. The Mounties would once again defeat the Sea-Hawks in 11 ends, which earned them a semifinal matchup with the UNB Reds. Mount Allison would continue their strong play in the semifinal and defeated the Reds 9-3 and book their spot in the Sunday final.
On the men’s side, Memorial, Saint Mary’s, and UNB all finished the round robin with 2 and 2 records. The Sea-Hawks won an earlier tiebreaker to get an automatic berth into the semi, while Saint Mary’s and UNB played in the tiebreaker. UNB scored 3 points in the final 2 ends to book their spot in the semifinal. The Reds would use that momentum to defeat the host Sea-Hawks by an 8-2 score.

The final day of the 2019 Subway AUS Curling Championships finishes up Sunday morning with the women and men’s finals both set for 10 a.m. NST at the RE/MAX Centre St. John’s Curling Club. The women’s final will see the Dalhousie Tigers face the Mount Allison Mounties. On the men’s side the Dalhousie Tigers will put their perfect record on the line versus the UNB Reds.
