(HALIFAX, N.S.) Memorial Sea-Hawks women's soccer forward Stacey Hanlon and Cape Breton Capers men's soccer forward Cory Bent have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

Stacey Hanlon of the Memorial Sea-Hawks women’s soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 8, 2019.
A fourth-year recreation student from Portugal Cove, N.L., Hanlon had a goal and three assists in two weekend wins to open the season for the Sea-Hawks.
In Saturday’s 6-0 win over the Saint Mary’s Huskies, she contributed two assists. In Sunday’s 5-1 win over the Huskies, Hanlon put Memorial on the board with the first goal of the game and then assisted on the second and eventual game-winning goal.
She was named Subway Player of the Game Sunday for her efforts.

Cory Bent of the Cape Breton Capers men’s soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Sept. 8, 2019.
A fourth-year community studies student from Preston, United Kingdom, Bent scored both game-winning goals and was named Subway Player of the Game twice as the Capers opened their season with weekend wins at home over the UNB Reds and UPEI Panthers.
He scored the second goal of the game in Cape Breton’s 2-1 defeat of UNB on Friday. Sunday, Bent scored the lone goal of the game in the Capers’ 1-0 win over UPEI.
