Hannah Brown from the Cape Breton Capers women’s basketball team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Nov. 25, 2018.
A fifth-year forward from North Sydney, N.S., Brown led the Capers to a pair of weekend wins over the Memorial Sea-Hawks with two double doubles.
On Saturday night, she scored 27 points and added 15 rebounds and two assists as Cape Breton topped Memorial 86-83. Sunday afternoon, Brown was named Subway Player of the Game in the Capers’ 91-90 win over the Sea-Hawks after scoring 29 points and adding 17 rebounds and two assists.
Heading into the December break, she leads U SPORTS in points, averaging 28.6 per game. She leads the AUS conference and sits fourth in the nation in rebounding, averaging 12.0 per game.

A third-year forward from Davie, Florida, Payne earned back-to-back Subway Player of the Game honours in two weekend wins for the Panthers.
UPEI downed the Acadia Axemen 4-1 Friday in Charlottetown, P.E.I. Payne put the Panthers on the board and also notched their third goal on the power play in the second period.
Saturday, the Panthers topped the U SPORTS no. 6-ranked Saint Mary’s Huskies 4-3 in Charlottetown. Payne put UPEI on the board on the power play in the first period and went on to score the game-winning goal in the third.
