(HALIFAX, N.S.) Moncton Aigles Bleues cross country runner Carol-Ann MacDonald and Cape Breton Capers men's soccer defender Peter Schaale have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

Carol-Ann MacDonald of the Moncton Aigles Bleues women’s cross country team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Oct. 14, 2018.
A fourth-year nutrition student from Irishtown, N.B., MacDonald won the first AUS cross country race of her career Saturday on the Moncton campus.
She finished the women’s 6km race in a time of 24:04.70, six seconds ahead of the second-place finisher—Acadia’s Katie Robinson.

Peter Schaale of the Cape Breton Capers men’s soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Oct. 14, 2018.
A third-year defender from Bernkastel-Kues, Germany, Schaale scored a hat trick, including the game-winner in the Capers’ 6-0 win over the Saint Mary’s Huskies Friday. He was named Subway Player of the Game for his efforts.
Sunday, Schaale’s strong defensive effort led the Capers to a 2-0 win over the previously undefeated Dalhousie Tigers. Cape Breton’s defence allowed no shots on goal in the game.
