PROFILE:
Last season was a breakout season for Martin. While not selected as an AUS all-star, Martin was second to teammate Jesse St. James in conference sacks with nine in eight games.
This past winter, Pesek was drafted by the CFL's Hamilton TigerCats in the seventh round.
Heading into 2014, St. James and Pesek both return for their senior years as the "book-ends" of a strong defensive line and senior defense. Pesek became a regular starter last season and finished the season in fine form. Hiis year-end statistics included 24 tackles, 15 assisted tackles, nine sacks and one forced fumble.
The Axemen lost 19-10 in the conference semifinal to the eventual AUS champion Mount Allison Mounties.
Acadia will have the opportunity to avenge that loss as they will return to MacAulay field on Saturday, Sept. 6th to open their season.
