St. Thomas Universtiy to host region’s top runners this weekend at 2015 Subway AUS Cross Country Championships

(FREDERICTON, N.B.) - The 2015 Subway AUS cross country championships take place this weekend in Fredericton as St. Thomas University will host the region's top university runners Saturday afternoon at Odell Park.

The StFX X-Men, the four-time defending AUS men's champions, will be looking to once again defend their title, while the Dalhousie Tigers women's squad have their sights set on claiming a third straight AUS women's banner.

On the men's side, StFX's Cal Dewolfe and Donald Scott, who both finished in the top seven of all three AUS races this season, will be looking to lead the pack this weekend.

The X-Men are the only AUS men's team in the CIS top 10, ranked ninth nationally: http://en.cis-sic.ca/sports/mxc/2015-16/top10.

On the women's side, Colleen Wilson and Michelle Reddy of the Dalhousie Tigers are runners to watch, having finished first and second respectively in the DAL/SMU Cross Country Open and the Moncton Invitational.

StFX's Hana Marmura won't be far behind—she finished third in all three AUS events this season.

The Dalhousie women's team is the lone AUS representative in the most recent CIS top 10, ranked eighth nationally: http://en.cis-sic.ca/sports/wxc/2015-16/top10.

The AUS cross-country championships take place at Odell Park Saturday afternoon in Fredericton. The women's 6 km race will begin at 12 p.m. and the men's 10 km race is set for 12:45 p.m.
