2019-20 AUS women's volleyball schedule announced

(HALIFAX, N.S.) – Atlantic University Sport is pleased to announce the 2019-20 regular season sport schedules for basketball, hockey, volleyball and swimming, as well as the hosts for the 2020 AUS winter championships.

All AUS regular season and postseason games will be webcast at AUStv.ca powered by Bell Aliant and select games will be broadcast live on Bell Aliant's Fibe TV on the TV1 channel (channel 1).

Women's Volleyball

The 2019-20 women's volleyball season is set to begin Friday, Oct. 25 the Moncton Aigles Bleues playing host to the UNB Reds in Moncton, N.B, and the Saint Mary's Huskies hosting the seven-time defending AUS champion Dalhousie Tigers in Halifax, N.S. at 7 p.m.

The Tigers will then host the Axewomen Sunday, Oct. 27 in their home opener set for 2 p.m.

Fall semester play concludes Sunday, Nov. 17 and resumes Friday, Jan. 10 following the holiday break.

The regular season wraps up Saturday, Feb. 15.

This season, the AUS women's volleyball conference will move to a playoff series model featuring the top four teams in the regular season standings.

The fourth-place team will face the first-place team, while the third-place team faces off against the second-place team in two best-of-three semi-final match series. All matches of these semifinals will be played at the home of the highest seed in the series Feb. 21-23.   

The winner of the two semi-final series will then face one another in a best-of-three championship final series to be played at the home of the top remaining seed. This series will take place from Feb. 28 to March 1.

The AUS champion will advance to this year's U SPORTS championship which will be hosted March 13-15 by the University of Calgary.
