AUS Women's Volleyball Weekly Round Up: Week 6

Acadia 2 vs. Saint Mary's (Box Score)
(HALIFAX, N.S.) The Saint Mary's Huskies battled back and defeated the visiting Acadia Axewomen in five sets on Friday night in Atlantic university sport volleyball action from the Homburg Centre. Fifth-year middle Erin Smith paced SMU and all hitters with 19 kills in the victory. Toronto natives Lucy Glen-Carter and Sarah Ross each chipped in 14 kills for Acadia while Lauryn Renzella had 12. Saint Mary's 3 vs. Moncton 1 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues won the first set, then lost the next three to fall 3-1 to the Saint Mary's University Huskies in Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball action Saturday. The Blue and Gold lost 22-25, 25-17, 25-21 and 25-15. Christelle Bertin had 10 kills and 7 digs in the loss with teammates Jessie Robichaud adding 12 digs and Pascale Doiron adding 8 kills and 33 attacks. Dalhousie 3 vs. UNB 0 (Box Score)
(FREDERICTON, N.B.) The first place Dalhousie Tigers scored a straight sets win over the UNB Varsity Reds on Saturday evening. The Tigers took a 3-0 win with scores of 25-14, 25-16 and 25-20. Dalhousie was led by third year setter Courtney Baker, who recorded a match-high 29 serve assists. She was named Subway Player of the Match. Melika Belliveau led the Varsity Reds with a match-high 13 kills, and contributed seven digs. Read more: Recap

Dalhousie 3 vs. UNB 1 (Box Score)
(FREDERICTON, N.B.) The Dalhousie Tigers handed the UNB Varsity Reds a 3-1 loss on Sunday afternoon, sweeping a two-match weekend series. The Tigers won with scores of 22-25, 25-9, 25-13 and 25-16. Catherine Callaghan led the Tigers with 22 digs, with Julie Moore registering a match-high 16 kills for Dalhousie. Paige Lehto paced the Varsity Reds with 25 serve assists, while Melika Belliveau had 14 digs. Read more: Recap

The Acadia Axewomen earned a 3-1 victory over the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues Sunday afternoon, with scores of 25-11, 25-20, 21-25, and 25-22. Sarah Ross had 11 kills for the Axewomen, adding 12 digs in the victory. Christelle Bertin tallied 8 kills in the loss, adding 10 digs.
