Women's Volleyball AUS League Tournament Recap

Memorial 3 vs. Moncton 2 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) In the first match of the AUS League Tournament in Moncton, the Universite the Moncton Aigles Bleues hosted the Memorial Sea-Hawks. Things went back-and-forth as the Aigles Bleues won the first and third sets, 25-13, and 25-22, and the Sea-Hawks took the second and fourth sets, 25-18, and 24-22 respectively. The Sea-Hawks walked away with the 3-2 victory, with a score of 15-11 in the fifth set. Emma Hackett led the Sea-Hawks with 18 kills, and added 8 digs, while teammate Sophia Gibbons had a game-high 19 points. Moncton was led by Christelle Bertin who had 13 kills and 17 digs, and Jessie Robichaud who added 17 digs.

Friday, Nov. 17

Saint Mary's 3 vs. UNB 0 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) In the first match of the day on Friday, The Saint Mary's Huskies were 3-0 winners over the UNB Varsity Reds. The Huskies won 25-23, 25-22 and 28-26. Erin Smith had 12 kills for the Huskies, while Maddie Clarke added 14 digs. Kristen Burns registered 15 kills for UNB and Kelsey Bond added 10 digs.

Memorial 0 vs. Dalhousie 3 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) Dalhousie Tigers faced a tough opposition, but did get by the Memorial Sea-Hawks 3-0, Friday afternoon. The Tigers were 25-12, 25-20 and 25-21 winners. Sarah Dawe had 8 kills and 5 digs for Memorial, while Julie Moore registered 13 kills and 12 digs for Dalhousie. 

Acadia 1 vs. Moncton 3 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues won their second game of the season, 3-1 against the Acadia Axewomen Friday evening at the CEPS. Moncton won 25-12, 13-25, 25-23 and 25-21. Christelle Bertin was chosen as Subway player of the game, with kills, 35 attacks and 12 digs for the Blue and Gold. Pascale Doiron added 11 kills and 40 attacks. Kailey Evans had 30 digs for the Axewomen. 

Saturday, Nov. 18

Acadia 3 vs. Saint Mary's 2 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) In Saturday afternoon play, the Acadia Axewomen had great opposition and had difficulty with the Saint Mary's Huskies, as they eventually won 3-2. Acadia won 28-26, 25-18, 20-25, 13-25 and 15-12. Lucy Glen-Carter and Lauryn Renzella each had 14 kills and Kailey Evans added 19 digs for the Axewomen. Kristina Adler had 12 kills and Marissa Maccaulay added 12 digs for the Huskies.

(MONCTON, N.B.) The Memorial Sea-Hawks were 3-1 winners over the UNB Varsity Redsin an exciting game Saturday. The Sea-Hawks won the first two sets, 27-25 and 26-24 and the fourth25-17. UNB kept hope with a 25-19 win in the third set. Emma Hackett had 15 kills and 11 digs for the Sea-Hawks and Kristen Burns had 17 kills for the Varsity Reds. 

Dalhousie 3 vs. Moncton 0 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) In the afternoon, Dalhousie Tigers blanked the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues, 3-0, by 25-20, 25-20 and 28-26 scoresJulie Moore had 21 kills and 14 digs for the Tigers while Mieke DuMont added 15 digs. Pascale Doiron registered 41 attacks and 18 kills for the Blue and Gold as well as 17 digs, while teammate Jessie Robichaud had 23 digs. Tigers setter Courtney Baker earned Subway Player of the Game Honours. 

Memorial 1 vs. Acadia 3 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) The Acadia Axewomen had the best of the Memorial Sea-Hawks, 3-1, on sets of 25-27, 25-16, 6-25 and 23-25. Emma Hackett had 14 kills and 9 digs for the Sea-Hawks, while Lauryn Renzella had 12 kills and 7 digs for Acadia. Acadia's Keiley Evans earned 15 digs in the victory. 

Dalhousie 3 vs. UNB 0 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) The Dalhousie Tigers blanked the UNB Varsity Reds, 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-12) Saturday. Julie Moore registered 13 kills while teammate Courtney Baker added 11 digs for the Tigers. Megan MacNeil had 5 kills for UNB. Dalhousie's Lauren Koskowich earned Subway Players of the Game honours. 

Saint Mary's 3 vs. Moncton 1 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) In Saturday evening tournament play at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud, the Saint Mary's Huskies beat the Blue and Gold, 3-1 on scores of 21-25, 25-12, 25-17 and 25-15. Anna Watt had 13 kills and 20 digs for the Huskies while Pascale Doiron had 11 kills and 13 digs for Moncton. 

Sunday, Nov. 19

Memorial 1 vs. Saint Mary's 3 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) Memorial Sea-Hawks lost 3-1 to the Saint Mary's Huskies in their last regular season game of the first semester. The Huskies won 25-17, 21-25, 25-18 and 25-12. Erin Smith had 15 kills and 29 attacks for the Huskies in the win, while teammate Maddie Clarke added 18 digs. Emma Hackett led the Sea-Hawks with 15 kills and 49 attacks, while Sarah Dawe had 17 digs in the loss.

Acadia 3 vs. Dalhousie 0 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) The Acadia Axewomen blanked the Dalhousie Tigers Sunday, handing them their first loss of the season. Acadia won 25-20, 25-18 and 27-25. Lauryn Renzella had 15 kills, 30 attacks and 9 digs, while Keiley Evans added 18 digs for the Axewomen. Victoria Turcot led the Tigers with 11 kills, 37 attacks and 10 digs. 

UNB 2 vs. Moncton 3 (Box Score)
(MONCTON, N.B.) The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues completed their first semester women's volleyball schedule with a 3-2 win over UNB Varsity Reds Sunday. The Blue and Gold won 17-25, 25-22, 27-25, 21-25 and 15-13. Jessie Robichaud, Subway player of the gamehad 18 digs, for the Aigles Bleues, while Pascale Doiron had 16 kills, 61 attacks and 19 digs and Christelle Bertin had 12 kills, 44 attacks and 26 digs in the victory. Kristen Burns registered 17 kills and 9 digs for the Varsity Reds.
