Weekend Round Up: AUS Women's Volleyball

Memorial 1 at Dalhousie 3 (Box Score

The Dalhousie Tigers claimed a 3-1 victory over the Memorial Sea-Hawks on Friday evening. The Tigers claimed the first and second set, 25-17 and 25-21, repectively. The Sea-Hawks bounced back in the third set to earn the 26-24 win, however a 25-15 win for the Tigers in the fourth allowed Dalhousie to claim the victory at home. The Tigers were led by Mieke DuMont (16.0 points, 14 digs), Anna Dunn-Suen (13.0 points, 18 digs), Courtney Baker (11.0 points, 10 digs) and Marisa Mota who added 25 digs in the victory. The Sea-Hawks were led by Kiersten Fey (15.5 points, 11 digs), Jill Snow (14.0 points, 18 digs) and Taryn Toscani who added a game-high 28 digs.

Moncton 2 at UNB 3 (Box Score)

The Moncton Aigles Bleues travelled to Fredericton on Friday to face the UNB Varsity Reds. The Varsity Reds claimed an eventual 3-2 victory, winning the first, fourth, and fifth sets 25-22, 25-16, and 15-9. The Aigles Bleues claimed the second and third sets 25-11 and 25-22 respectively. The Aigles Bleues were led by Christelle Bertin (13.5 points, 11 digs), Pascale Doiron (12.5 points, eight digs), Rachelle Lemoine (12.0 points, three digs) while Catherine Guitard added 18 digs. The Varsity Reds were led by Janie-Eve Doucet (27.0 points, 13 digs), Robyn Anderson (11.5 points, one dig), and Megan Kuciak (10.0 points, 18 digs).

The Memorial Sea-Hawks visited the Saint Mary's Huskies at the Homburg Center on Saturday. The Sea-Hawks claimed a 3-2 victory, winning the first, second, and fifth set, 26-24, 25-20, and 26-24. The Huskies claimed the third and fourth sets, 25-20 and 26-24, respectively. The Sea-Hawks were led by Jill Snow (24.0 points, 15 digs), Kiersten Fey (23.5 points, 24 digs), Krista Hogan (10.0 points, 16 digs) and Taryn Toscani added 18 digs. The Huskies were led by Erin Smith (18.0 points, 4 digs), Maddie Clarke (15.5 points, 13 digs), Kristina Adler (12.5 points, 13 digs), with teammate Tessa Michaels adding 26 digs.

Memorial 3 at Saint Mary's 2 (Box Score)

The Memorial Sea-Hawks and Saint Mary's Huskies had their second meeting of the weekend on Sunday, where the Sea-Hawks claimed another 3-2 victory. The Huskies claimed the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-19, respectively, but the Sea-Hawks battled back to win the final three sets, 25-19, 25-22, and 15-11. Memorial was led by Jill Snow (26.0 points, 28 digs), Krista Hogan (12.5 points, 9 digs), Kiersten Fey (10.0 points, 23 digs), with teammate Taryn Toscani adding 16 digs. Saint Mary's was led by Erin Smith (17.5 points, two digs), Maddie Clarke (16.5 points, 27 digs), Kristina Adler (11.0 points, 12 digs), with Tessa Michaels adding a game-high 33 digs.

Dalhousie 3 at Acadia 0 (Box Score)

The Acadia Axewomen hosted the Dalhousie Tigers on Sunday afternoon. Dalhousie won three straight sets, 25-13, 25-23, and 26-24 to claim the 3-0 victory. The Tigers were led by Anna Dunn-Suen (11.5 points, six digs), Jessica Josenhands (8.5 points), and Amy Appleby (7.0 points, 14 digs), while the Axewomen were led by Sarah Ross (13.0 points, four digs), while Hillary Monette added 17 digs, and Michaela Sabean added 15.
