Wednesday, January 27

Acadia 3 at Saint Mary's 2 (Box Score)

The Acadia Axewomen claimed the 3-2 victory as they visited the Saint Mary's Huskies on Bell Let's Talk Day. The Huskies took the first set with a 25-13 win, however the Axewomen fought back in the second set to edge the Huskies 25-19. The Huskies claimed the third set as they just edged the Axewomen 28-26. The Axewomen battled hard in the fourth set, topping the Huskies 25-20, forcing an extra set. In the over-time frame, the Axewomen claimed the victory with a close 20-18 win over the Huskies. The Axewomen were led by Lauryn Renzella (17.0 points, 24 digs), Sarah Ross (16.0 points, 11 digs), and Fiona McGuinty (10.0 points, three digs), while Hillary Monette posted an impressive 28 digs in the game. The Huskies were led by Jaime Rourke (21.0 points, 17 digs), Erin Smith (11.0 points, three digs), Erica Dowling (10.0 points, 23 digs) and Lindsay Donovan (10.0 points, two digs). Tessa Michaels posted 23 digs for the Huskies in the rally, with teammate Maddie Clarke just behind with 22 digs.

UNB 0 at Memorial 3 (Box Score)

The Memorial Sea-Hawks hosted the UNB Varsity Reds in St. John's on Friday night. The Sea-Hawks claimed the win in three straight sets, topping the Varsity Reds 25-19, 25-15, and 25-10. Memorial was led by Kiersten Fey (15.5 points, three digs), and Jill Snow (13.0 points, five digs) with Maiya Westwood adding and eight digs, and Taryn Toscani adding seven. The Varsity Reds were led by Megan Kuciak (9.0 points, three digs) and Molly Gallibois adding eight digs.

Moncton 2 at Acadia 3 (Box Score)

The Acadia Axeomen claimed a 3-2 victory over the Moncton Aigles Bleues on Saturday. The Axewomen took the first set with a 25-19 win, however the Aigles Bleues fought back in the second set to edge the Axewomen 27-25. The Aigles Bleues stayed strong throughout the third set, topping the Axewomen 25-17, however the Axewomen fought back hard in the fourth set, topping the Aigles Bleues 22-11 to force an extra set. The Axewomen claimed the extra frame and the victory with a 15-12 victory over the Aigles Bleues. Moncton was led by Rachelle Lemoine (17.5 points, three digs), Christelle Bertin (10.5 points, 14 digs), and Pascale Doiron (9.0 points, 10 digs), with Catherine Guitard adding 16 digs for the Aigles Bleues. Acadia was led by Sarah Ross (25.0 points, three digs), Lauryn Renzella (17.0 points, nine digs), Marissa Chin (10.0 points, three digs), and Michaela Sabean (9.0 points, 19 digs) with Hillary Monette adding 23 digs.

The Memorial Sea-Hawks the UNB Varsity Reds for their second meeting of the weekend on Saturday. Memorial won three straight sets 25-20, 25-19, and 25-14 to claim the 3-0 victory. Memorial was led by Jill Snow (14.0 points, 12 digs), Krista Hogan (12.0 points, three digs), and Kiersten Fey (10.0 points, nine digs) with Kimberly Bauder adding 13 digs, and Maiya Westwood adding 12 digs. UNB was led by Paige Nelmes (11.5 points, eight digs), Megan Kuciak (10.0 points, and seven digs).

UNB 0 at Memorial 3 (Box Score)

The Memorial Sea-Hawks the UNB Varsity Reds for their third and final meeting of the weekend on Sunday. Memorial won three straight sets 25-21, 25-10, and 25-18 to claim the 3-0 victory for their third victory of the weekend. The Memorial squad was led by Jill Snow (15.0 points, 10 digs), Kiersten Fey (11.5 points, eight digs), and Sarah Dawe (8.0 points, four digs) with Maiya Westwood adding 17 digs. UNB was led by Megan Kuciak (10.5 points, five digs), and Paige Nelmes (6.5 points, seven digs), with Olivia Witteveen adding 17 digs.

Dalhousie 2 at Saint Mary's 3 (Box Score

The Saint Mary's Huskies claimed a 3-2 victory over the Dalhousie Tigers on Saturday. The Tigers claimed the first two sets 26-24 and 25-16, however the Huskies fought back in the third and fourth sets to win both sets 25-21, forcing the game into an extra set. In the fifth set, the Huskies topped the Tigers 15-8, copmpleting their come-back and earning the 3-2 victory. The Tigers were led by Courtney Baker (16.0 points, seven digs), Anna Dunn-Suen (10.0 points, 16 digs), and Lauren Koskowich (9.0 points, three digs), with Marisa Mota adding 24 digs and Abby Czenze adding 15. The Huskies were led by Erica Dowling (17.0 points, 10 digs), Jaime Rourke (15.5 points, 14 digs), Erin Smith and (11.0 points, two digs) with Maddie Clarke adding 26 digs, and Tessa Michaels adding 16 digs in the victory.
