(ST. JOHN'S, N.L.) - The Dalhousie Tigers outlasted the Memorial Sea-Hawks 3-1 in AUS women's volleyball at the Field House on Sunday. Set scores were 25-18, 25-23, 19-25, and 25-19.

In a competitive game highlighted by a brief power-outage at Memorial's Field House, the Sea-Hawks held the third-ranked team to four sets, but it wasn't enough to keep them in the game.

The Subway player of the game for Dalhousie was third-year libero Marisa Mota (Kitchener, Ont.), for the second game in a row after contributing a team-high 26 digs.

Anna Dunn-Suen (Halifax, N.S.) and Mieke Dumont (Kamloops, B.C.) led the winners with 11 kills apiece. Setter Abby Czenze (Halifax, N.S.) provided 32 assists for her team.

Leading Memorial once again was left side Krista Hogan (Kippens, N.L.) with 16 kills and two blocks. Fellow left side, Jill Snow (Bishop's Falls, N.L.) added 14 kills of her own. Rookie libero, Kim Bauder (Langley, B.C.) had a match-high 24 digs while Kirsten Sorensen (Red Deer, Alta.) had 41 assists in the loss.

Dalhousie are now 7-6 on the season after the weekend sweep, earning them a playoff berth. Memorial is now 2-10 with the loss, but still remain in the final playoff spot, with four more games to go.

Memorial's next games are Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 in Sydney when they play the Cape Breton Capers, currently seeded last.

The Tigers play host next weekend to both Moncton and UNB with games on Friday and Saturday.
