Aigles Bleues fall 3-2 to Huskies

(MONCTON, N.B.) - The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (3-10) came back from a 2-0 deficit, but lost the deciding set and fell 3-2 to the Saint Mary's University Huskies (8-3) in an exciting AUS women's volleyball game played Saturday at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud, on the Moncton campus.

The blue and gold lost 23-25, 20-25, 25-20, 25-15 and 5-15. Geneviève LeBlanc had 10 kills and Christelle Bertin added nine. LeBlanc added 16 digs and Bertin, 13. Véronique Carroll made 37 assists.

Saint Mary's was led by Rachel Windhorst with 18 kills and 14 digs. Tessa Michaels added 24 digs.

The Aigles will host the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds (5-5), Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the CEPS in the second last home game of the regular season.  

The Huskies next take to the court Saturday, Jan. 24 when they host the Cape Breton Capers at 2 p.m.
