(SYDNEY, N.S.) The host and top-seeded Cape Breton Capers have earned their spot in Sunday's championship final of the Subway AUS Women's Soccer Championship with a 2-0 win over the no. 6 seed Memorial Sea-Hawks.

The U SPORTS no. 2-ranked Capers are defending AUS champions and national silver medallists.

The Sea-Hawks entered the tournament as the sixth-seeded team and upset the no. 3-ranked Dalhousie Tigers, earning a 4-0 win in yesterday's quarterfinals.

Cape Breton's Madison Goodlife (Mississauga, Ont.) opened the scoring just two minutes into the game with what would stand as the eventual game-winner.

Two-time AUS MVP Ciera Disipio (Ottawa, Ont.) added an insurance goal off a goal-mouth scramble in the 26th minute. The Capers outshot the Sea-Hawks 10-2 in the first half and Cape Breton went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

The second half was a scoreless affair as the Capers defended their lead to come away with a 2-0 win.

Disipio was named Subway Player of the Game with six shots on goal and one goal.

Memorial's first team AUS all-star keeper Sydney Walsh was named player of the game for the Sea-Hawks in the loss. She made 15 saves in the game.

Cape Breton now advances to the championship final game Sunday at 1 p.m. where they will face the fourth-seeded StFX X-Women who narrowly topped Acadia today with a 1-0 win the first semifinal matchup of the day.
