Huskies hand Capers first loss of season to extend win streak to three

The Saint Mary's Huskies handed the Cape Breton Capers their first loss of the season with a 1-0 shutout, and topped the UNB Reds 2-1 this weekend to extend their winning streak to three to shoot up the AUS women's soccer standings.

The Acadia Axewomen remain undefeated and in sole possession of first place in the Atlantic University Sport standings after a 2-1 win over the visiting Reds on Friday night, and a 3-0 victory over the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues on Sunday afternoon.

In Saturday afternoon action, the Dalhousie Tigers and StFX X-Women played out a thrilling 1-1 draw at Oland Stadium, while the Mount Allison Mounties topped the Aigles Bleues 3-1. 

Sunday afternoon, the X-Women and UPEI Panthers played to a 2-2 draw, with goals coming from UPEI's Danielle Younker and Lauren Clark, and StFX's Amanda Smith and Kelsey Ellis.
