AUS Women's Soccer Weekend Round Up: Week 7

Wednesday, Oct. 26 

Saint Mary's 1 at StFX 3 (Box Score)

The StFX X-Women downed the Saint Mary's Huskies 3-1 Wednesday evening in Antigonish, N.S. Mercy Myles, Logan Lee-Knight and Kelsey Ellis scored a goal apiece in the StFX win. Madelyn Belliveau scored the lone marker for Saint Mary's.

Friday, Oct. 28

Acadia 3 at Memorial 3 (Box Score)

The Axewomen travelled to St. John's, N.L. Friday to face off against the Memorial Sea-Hawks. The game ended in a 3-3 tie. Alexandra Scovil, Michelle Pryde and Emily Nickerson scored goals for Acadia. Memorial's goals were scored by Hannah Rivkin (with two) and Holly O'Neill.

Mount Allison 0 at UPEI 2 (Box Score)

The UPEI Panthers played host to the Mounties on Friday in Charlottetown. The home team earned a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Jerika Gimpel and Courtney McRorie.

Moncton 0 at UNB 3 (Box Score)

The Aigles Bleues and the Varsity Reds faced off in Fredericton on Friday. UNB earned a 3-0 win with goals coming from Ellen Arsenault and Abby Sullivan (with two).

Dalhousie 2 at Saint Mary's 0 (Box Score)

The Tigers and the Huskies battled it out at Huskies Stadium Friday in a match that ended in a 2-0 Dalhousie victory. Meagan McKenna scored the game's two goals.

Saturday, Oct. 29

Acadia 0 at Memorial 1 (Box Score)

Acadia and Memorial faced off once again Saturday. The home team came away with a 1-0 win. The lone goal of the game with scored by Memorial's Spencer Wilkins.

UNB 2 at Mount Allison 0 (Box Score)

The UNB Varsity Reds and the Mount Allison Mounties battled it out at Alumni Field in Sackville on Saturday. UNB earned a 2-0 win with goals coming from Sylvie Fecteau and Lauren Cubbon.

StFX 1 at Cape Breton 3 (Box Score)

The X-Women and the Capers faced off in Sydney on Saturday. The home team managed a 3-1 win over StFX in their final game of the regular season. Koena Simmonds, Chelsea Currie and Ciera Disipio scored for CBU. Elise Brannan scored StFX's lone goal.

The 2016 Subway AUS Women's Soccer Championship will be hosted by Cape Breton University at CBU Field in Sydney, N.S. Nov. 3 to 6, 2016.   

The championship schedule is as follows:

Thursday, Nov. 3
Quarterfinal #1: Dalhousie (6th) vs. Acadia (3rd), 5 p.m.
Quarterfinal #2: UNB (5th) vs. StFX (4th), 7:30 p.m. 

Friday, Nov. 4
Semifinal #1: Lowest Remaining Seed vs. Cape Breton (1st), 5 p.m.
Semifinal #2: Highest Remaining Seed vs. Memorial (2nd), 7:30 p.m. 

Sunday, Nov. 6
Championship Game: Semifinal #1 Winner vs. Semifinal #2 Winner, 2 p.m.

*Note: All games of the championship will be broadcast live on Bell Aliant Fibe TV on channels 1 and 401, and available via webcast, live at www.AUStv.ca.

The Atlantic University Sport conference receives two berths at the 2016 national women's soccer championship being hosted by Acadia University in Wolfville, N.S. Nov. 10-13, 2016

The berths will go to the AUS championship winner and the host Acadia Axewomen. Should the Axewomen win the AUS championship, the second Atlantic conference berth will be awarded to the AUS runner up.
