(CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I.) - The UPEI Panthers gave the Memorial Sea-Hawks the 5-0 victory they needed on Saturday in Charlottetown to earn themselves a first-round bye for next week's playoffs.

The Panthers finished the season 5-6-2.

Emily Bailey took the first goal of the game before the clock hit five minutes (2:14), a pattern the Sea-Hawks have kept up for three games now. Jessie Noseworthy gave the team insurance in the 34th minute with an unassisted goal.

At the half Memorial was up 2-0, and remained there until the last three minutes of the game when Bailey put one in the back of the next for the second time, and her 10th of the season.

Second-year Jenny Tiller increased Memorial's lead to four with her first goal of the season at the 89:40 mark, assisted by Hannah Rivkin. It was then Rivkin, a third-year midfielder for the Sea-Hawks that netted a solo goal after the clock hit 90 minutes.

The Panthers had five shots on goal but none could get passed keeper Jamie Crocker who earned her third shutout of the season.

The 2014 Subway AUS women's soccer championship is being hosted by Dalhousie University in Halifax, Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

The UPEI Panthers will face the Cape Breton Capers Friday at 11 a.m. in the first of two championship quarterfinal games.

The Sea-Hawks will face the highest remaining seed Saturday at 2 p.m. in the second championship semifinal.
