Tigers win 1-0 in Huskies home opener

(HALIFAX, N.S.) The visiting Dalhousie Tigers came out of Huskies Stadium with a 1-0 win over the Saint Mary's Huskies in their home opener Saturday afternoon in Atlantic University Sport women's soccer action.

Saint Mary's (0-3) held Dal (1-1-1) scoreless until Victoria Parkinson netted the lone marker on an assist from Jenna Hudder in the 72nd minute.

Dal held a 4-2 shot advantage after 45 minute and ended the game 16-8 in the shot category.

Huskies goalie Jackie Blank had 10 saves and her counterpart Katie Morgan finished with four saves for the Tigers.

Huskies' Blank leads all AUS goaltenders with 29 saves through three games, while Lindsay Millet is tied for seventh in AUS scoring with four points for the Huskies.

The next game for the Huskies is Sunday, Sept. 14 as they travel to Sackville to face the Mount Allison Mounties.
