The Acadia Axewomen finished the season with a 4-2 record and in second place in the AUS standings. The Panthers finished third in the standings with a 2-4 record.

The two teams last faced one another on Oct. 6 in Charlottetown, P.E.I. and the Axewomen came away with a 57-12 victory.

The Axewomen boast the two top scorers in the conference: Tori Hogan (54 points in five games played) and Alysha Corrigan (53 points in five games played).

Brinten Comeau had led the way for the Panthers this season, posting 30 points in six games. Sophie Carragher had 20 points in six games for UPEI this season.

The winner of this matchup will move on to face the first-place and undefeated StFX X-Women Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. in Antigonish, N.S. for the conference title.

Acadia will then play host to the U SPORTS Women's Rugby Championship Nov. 1-4. As hosts, the Axewomen will receive an automatic berth. A second Atlantic conference berth will be awarded to the AUS champion.

Should the Axewomen claim the AUS championship title, the second national championship berth will be awarded to the AUS runner-up.
