Aigles Bleues begin to climb up women's hockey standings

The Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues have begun to climb up the AUS women's hockey standings, as they earned a 5-2 victory over the Dalhousie Tigers on Friday and a convincing 4-0 win over the StFX X-Women on Sunday.

The Saint Mary's Huskies and Dalhousie Tigers opened the second half of the season on Wednesday at Civic Arena, with the Huskies earning a 3-1 victory.

The Huskies then went on to defeat the Mount Allison Mounties on Friday night with a 2-1 victory in Sackville, however, fell to the league-leading St. Thomas Tommies 3-1 on Saturday.

With a 2-0 win over the UPEI Panthers on Sunday afternoon, the Tommies have extended their win streak to 12, to give them a 16-2 record on the season.

The X-Women hosted the UNB Reds on Friday night, earning a 2-0 shutout victory at home.

On Saturday, the UPEI Panthers scored five third-period goals to earn a huge 6-0 victory over the Mounties in Charlottetown, while the Tigers topped the Reds 4-3.
