AUS Women's Hockey Weekly Round Up: Week 4

Wednesday, Nov. 2

Saint Mary's 2 at Mount Allison 1 (Box Score)

The Saint Mary's Huskies earned a 2-1 win over the Mount Allison Mounties Wednesday in Sackville, N.B. Mary Worndl opened up the scoring for the visitors in the first frame. The second period was scoreless.

Mount Allison's Kara Anthony scored the equalizer half way through the final frame, but it was quickly followed by Siobhan Birch's Saint Mary's game winner.

Saturday, Nov. 5

Mount Allison 2 at Moncton 1 (Box Score)

The Mount Allison Mounties earned a 2-1 road victory Saturday over the Monton Aigles Bleues. Heather Richards notched the lone goal of the opening frame for the Mounties. 

Cassandra Labrie scored the equalizer for the visitors in the second period on the power play. But Andrea Bell notched the unassisted game winner in the final frame to secure the Mounties victory.

StFX 2 at UPEI 3 (Box Score)

The UPEI Panthers earned the 3-2 win over the StFX X-Women Saturday in Charlottetown. UPEI's Maria Clinton and StFX's Connor Garagan exchanged goals in the opening frame. Faith Steeves and Madison Clarke added a goal apiece for the Panthers in the second period--both on the power play. 

Sarah Bujold brought the X-Women within one with a power play goal in the third, but it would not be enough as UPEI went on to secure the 3-2 victory.

Dalhousie 3 at St. Thomas 4 (Box Score)

The St. Thomas Tommies scored a 4-3 win over the Dalhousie Tigers Saturday in Fredericton. The Tigers opened the scoring with all three of their markers in the first period. The Tommies responded with two goals to close out the first frame. After a scoreless second period, St. Thomas notched the equalizer and the go-ahead goal in the third period to secure the win. 

Dalhousie's Lisa Maclean was named the Subway First Star of the Game. St. Thomas's Danielle Ring and Becky Conner were named the second and third stars.

Sunday, Nov. 6

UPEI 1 at St. Thomas 5 (Box Score)

The Tommies earned their second win of the weekend Sunday versus the UPEI Panthers. St. Thomas's Kelty Apperson notched a hat trick in the win. Teah Anderson and Lauren Henman added the other Tommies goals. Kiana Strand spoiled Taylor Cook's shutout in the final frame.

Apperson, Henman and St. Thomas's Jessie McCann were named the game's three stars.

Dalhousie 2 at Moncton 4 (Box Score)

The Moncton Aigles Bleues earned a 4-2 win over the visiting Dalhousie Tigers Sunday in Moncton. Moncton's Janelle Graham and Dalhousie's Ashley Money exchanged goals in the opening frame. The Aigles Bleues' Katherine Dubuc and the Tigers' Lisa Maclean exchanged goals in the second period.

Brittany Poitras scored the game winner for Moncton in the third period and Cassandra Labrie added insurance with an empty net goal. Labrie was named the Subway First Star of the Game.
