Tuesday, February 2

StFX 2 at St. Thomas 0 (Box Score)

The St. Thomas Tommies hosted the StFX X-Women in Fredericton on Tuesday evening. After a scoreless first period, StFX forward Kara Power put the X-Women on the board at 04:17 into the second frame, holding the one goal lead heading into the third period. With just over a minute remaining in the third, an empty-net goal from StFX's Sarah Bujold allowed the X-Women to earn the 2-0 victory. In net for the X-Women was Sojung Shin, stopping all 37 shots she faced to earn the shutout.

Wednesday, Feburary 3

UPEI 3 at Mount Allison 2 (2OT) (Box Score)

The UPEI Panthers travelled to Sackville on Wednesday to face the Mount Allison Mounties. After a scoreless first period, the Mounties got onto the board in the second with a tally from Jessica Desautels. Just 56 seconds into the third period, the Panthers tied the game at 1-1 with a tally from Jessie Brown. Under two minutes later, the Mounties regained their lead with a goal from Andrea Dinan, until a tally from UPEI's Kiana Strand tied the game at 2-2, forcing overtime. After a scoreless first extra frame, the game headed into double overtime. Just 36 seconds into double OT, a goal from UPEI's Emma Weatherbie allowed the Panthers to earn the 3-2 victory. 

 

Saturday, Febaruary 6

Mount Allison 3 at StFX 2 (OT) (Box Score)

The Mount Allison Mounties visited the StFX X-Women in Antigonish on Saturday afternoon. The X-Women were the first on the board in the opening frame with a goal from sophomore forward Sarah Bujold at the 13:36 mark. Just over a minute later, a goal from Mount Allison fourth-year forward Kara Anthony to tie the game at 1-1 heading into the second period. At 03:09 into the second, a goal from Mount Allison's third-year forward Jennifer Bell gave the Mounties the 2-1 edge, until a tally from StFX fourth-year forward Kara Power tied it back up at the 08:54 mark. After a scoreless third period, the game headed into over-time. With an extra frame not being able to settle it, the game went into shootout with Mount Allison fourth-year forward Kelsey Taylor scoring the winning goal for the Mounties as they earned the 3-2 victory on the road.

Moncton 2 at Saint Mary's 1 (Box Score)

The Saint Mary's Huskies hosted the Moncton Aigles Bleues on Saturday afternoon. After a scoreless first period, the Aigles Bleues were the first on the board in the second with a goal at 02:27 from sophomore forward Katryne Villeneuve. Shortly after at the 06:36 mark, Saint Mary's sophomore forward Mary Worndl tied the game at 1-1. After a scoreless third, the game called for an extra frame. The first over-time would not cut it, as the game headed into a second over-time, which saw a tally from Moncton freshman forward Katherine Dubuc to give the Aigles Bleues the over-time victory.

St. Thomas 2 at Dalhousie 1 (Box Score

The St. Thomas Tommies travelled to Halifax on Saturday to take on the Dalhousie Tigers. After a scoreless first and second period, the Tommies were the first on the board in the third with a power-play goal from Lauren Henman at 02:59 to give St. Thomas the 1-0 lead. At the 09:19 mark, a power-play tally from St. Thomas fourth-year forward Kenya Marcelline put the Tommies ahead by two. With just eight seconds remaining in regulation, the Tigers got on the board with a power-play goal from freshman forward Becca Chilvers, but it would not be enough as the Tommies held on for the 2-1 victory.

Sunday, February 7

StFX 0 at Moncton 4 (Box Score)

The Moncton Aigles Bleues hosted the StFX X-Women on Sunday afternoon. After a scoreless first period, a goal from Moncton third-year defenceman Roxanne Turcotte at 14:49 put the Aigles Bleues on the board with the lone goal of the second. After no scoring throughout the start of the third, the Aigles Bleues came out flying in the last two minutes of regulation, netting three goals to earn the 4-0 victory at home. Moncton's third period goals came from fourth-year defenceman Natacha Bergeron, fifth-year forward Marie-Pier Arseneault (EN), and a short-handed empty-net goal from fifth-year forward Amelie Dion. In net for the Aigles Bleues was fourth-year goaltender Emilie Bouchard, stopping all 29 shots she faced to earn the shutout.

St. Thomas 4 at Saint Mary's 1 (Box Score)

The St. Thomas Tommies visited the Saint Mary's Huskies on Sunday afternoon. The Tommies kicked things off early in the opening frame with a goal just 01:50 in from sophomore forward Marina Sergina, followed by a tally from teammate Emily Francis at the 05:07 mark to take a two goal lead. The Huskies cut the Tommies lead to 2-1 at the 10:41 mark of the first with a goal from fourth-year forward Caitlyn Schell. In the second period, a power-play goal from St. Thomas freshman defenceman Jessica McCann gave the Tommies the 3-1 lead heading into the final period of regulation. The Tommies extended their lead in the third with a goal at the 13:25 mark from sophomore forward Alisha Gilbert to earn the 4-1 victory.

Dalhousie 3 at UPEI 2 (Box Score)

The Dalhousie Tigers hosted the UPEI Panthers on Sunday evening. For the complete game recap, please click here. The Panthers opened the scoring early in the first with a goal just 49 seconds in from fifth-year forward Samantha Sweet, and would hold the one goal lead throughout the first. In the second frame, the Tigers got on the board with a goal from fourth-year defenceman Laura Brooks at 06:36 to tie the game at 1-1. Under two minutes later, a short-handed tally from Tigers third-year forward Courtney Sheedy gave Dalhousie the lead, until a power-play goal from Panthers Ashtyn Bartlett tied the game at 2-2 heading into the final frame. At 14:10 into the third, Dalhousie's Laura Brooks scored her second of the night to give the Tigers the 3-2 edge, as they held on for the victory on the road.
