(MONCTON, N.B.) - A goal by Moncton's Katryne Villeneuve, 37 seconds into the overtime period on a breakaway, lifted the Aigles Bleues (14-3-1) to a 2-1 win over the Dalhousie University Tigers (6-11-2) Saturday afternoon at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.

Villeneuve captured a pass from team captain Marika Lacroix in the neutral zone to go against goaltender Jessica Severeyns and beat her low on the stick side.

"I saw a small opening on the ice and there was a bit of snow there also," Villeneuve said. "I have been practicing that shot on our goalies and I scored. I am very happy with the victory. We played better than last Sunday against them. "

Courtney Sheedy (from Sarah Robichaud and Lisa MacLean) gave the visitors a 1-0 lead at 1:54 of the second on the power play.

Manon Lamarre (from Marika Lacroix and Catherine Dumas) evened the score at 1-1, at 9:06 of the second period. Lamarre scored on a screened shot high on the net on the power play.

There was no first or third period scoring.

The game was fast and exciting. Gabrielle Forget handled 18 shots for the win while Jessica Severyns had 30 shots, including 14 in the third period, for the loss.

The Aigles travel to Halifax, Sunday for a 2 p.m. encounter with the Saint Mary's Huskies at the Halifax Forum.

The Tigers travel to Fredericton to face the St. Thomas Tommies at the same time.
