The Acadia Axewomen, UNB Reds, Cape Breton Capers, and UPEI Panthers all opened the AUS women's basketball seasons with weekend sweeps.
The reigning AUS women's basketball champions, the Acadia Axewomen opened the season on Thursday night as they visited the Saint Mary's Huskies, playing to a 78-70 victory. the Axewomen then visited Saint Mary's again on Saturday, playing to a 78-74 victory.
The Capers opened their season on the road, defeating the Dalhousie Tigers in back-to-back games. Cape Breton earned an 80-73 victory on Saturday evening and a 73-56 win on Sunday.
The UNB Reds visited the StFX X-Women this weekend, playing to a 69-40 win on Friday and earning a massive 79-37 victory on Saturday evening.
UPEI hosted the Memorial Sea-Hawks this weekend, earning a close 79-75 victory on Saturday, and another close 62-60 win on Sunday afternoon.
