AUS Women's Basketball Weekly Round Up: Week 10

Saint Mary's 55 vs. StFX 46 (Box Score)
(ANTIGONISH, N.S.) The Saint Mary's Huskies defeated the StFX X-Women by a 55-46 margin Tuesday evening on Coach K Court at the StFX Oland Centre. The victory was worth four points in the AUS standings for the Huskies who moved into sole possession of second place. Saint Mary's were led by Subway player of the game Shanieka Wood (Ajax, ON) who had a big double-double night, scoring a game-high 18 points, along with 14 rebounds. Read more: Recap

Cape Breton 61 vs. Dalhousie 48 (Box Score)
(HALIFAX, N.S.) In AUS women's basketball action at the Dalplex, the Cape Breton Capers defeated the Dalhousie Tigers 61-48 in a game where the Capers successfully navigated ebbs and flows in scoring to get the win. The Capers were led by Subway Player of the Game Hannah Brown, who had a team leading 15 points and 14 rebounds to get the double double. Alison Keough also had a double double with 14 points and 12 boards. The Tigers were powered by Robertha Charles, who had a game high 16 points, and also chipped in seven rebounds. Karina May added six points and six boards for the Tigers. Read more: Recap

Acadia 78 vs. Saint Mary's 62 (Box Score)
(HALIFAX, NS) The USports No. 3 Acadia Axewomen defeated the host Saint Mary's Huskies 78-62 on Friday evening in Atlantic university sport women's basketball action from the Homburg Centre. Haley McDonald paced Acadia and all scorers with 18 points and added eight assists in the win while teammate and 5-1 guard Pamoela Anderson finished with 15 points and nine assists. Chanel Smith added 14 points and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia native Alexandra Berry had 13 for the Axewomen. Senior guard Katrina Murrell chipped in 13 points for Saint Mary's while teammate Kennisha-Shanice Luberisse added 12 points and nine rebounds. Read more: Recap

Cape Breton 84 vs. Acadia 83 (Box Score) (4-point game)
(WOLFVILLE, N.S.) A 19 point comeback highlighted the Cape Breton Capers 84-83 win over the U SPORTS No. 3 ranked Acadia Axewomen. The loss is only the second for the Axewomen this season and comes on the first meeting of both teams this season. Subway Player of the Game Alison Keough led the Capers with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Teammate Hannah Brown added 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Valentina Primossi posted 10 points off the bench. Acadia's Paloma Anderson contributed a game-high 20 points, while teammates Haley McDonald and Katie Ross netted 14 and 13 points.
