Centre Graciela Diaz-Brito of the Memorial Sea-Hawks women's basketball team is the Wilsons Security Defensive Player of the Week.
A second-year French student from Santa Cruz, Spain, Diaz-Brito was an integral part of two weekend wins for Memorial.
In Saturday's 61-58 win over the StFX X-Women, she posted a game-high 11 defensive rebounds and two blocks for the Sea-Hawks' defence. She also chipped in with 12 points, four assists and two offensive rebounds.
Memorial completed a weekend sweep of the X-Women Sunday, topping StFX 73-58. Diaz-Brito managed another double-double, scoring a game-high 19 points and adding 10 rebounds, including four defensive rebounds.
The Sea-Hawks take to the court next on Feb. 3 and 4 when they travel to Dalhousie for two games Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m AST.
