Forward Katrina Murrell of the Saint Mary's Huskies women's basketball team is the Wilsons Security Defensive Player of the Week.

A fourth-year arts student from Markham, Ont., Murrell's strong defence helped lead the Huskies to two more wins this past weekend. The Saint Mary's squad has won the conference title the last four consecutive seasons and they are undefeated so far this season (6-0).

In Friday's 58-53 win over the UNB Varsity Reds, Murrell had four defensive rebounds (seven total rebounds) and two steals for the Huskies' defence. 

Saturday, Saint Mary's posted a 46-34 win over the UPEI Panthers at home. Murrell had a game-high 10 defensive rebounds in the win as well as a steal.

She currently sits second in the conference in defensive rebounds per game, averaging 6.0. 

The Huskies will next see action this Saturday when they visit the StFX X-Women in Antigonish, N.S. for a 6 p.m. game.
