AUS Women's Basketball Round Up: Week 3

Thursday, Nov. 17

StFX 52 at Dalhousie 73 (Box Score)

The Tigers topped the X-Women 73-52 in Halifax Thursday night. Dalhousie led 28-21 at halftime. Shalyn Field had a game-high 17 points for the Tigers, to go along with six rebounds and four steals. Robertha Charles added 11 points and four rebounds and Karina May chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.

Chelsea Provo led the X-Women with 11 points and seven assists. Holly Scott had 11 points and five rebounds off the bench for StFX.

Friday, Nov. 18

UPEI 58 at Acadia 61 (Box Score)

The Axewomen earned a 61-58 win at home Friday over the UPEI Panthers. 2016 AUS MVP Paloma Anderson led Acadia with a game-high 24 points to go along with seven rebounds, three steals and two assists. Alexandra Berry chipped in with a game-high 13 rebounds and added eight points.

Karla Yepez led the Panthers with 17 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals in the loss. Carolina Del Santa had a team-high 11 rebounds to go along with five points, two assists, a block and a steal.

UNB 53 at Saint Mary's 58 (Box Score)

The Saint Mary's Huskies continued their winning ways Friday with a 58-53 victory over the UNB Varsity Reds. UNB held a 33-27 lead at the half. 

Jenny Lewis had 14 points and three rebounds in the win for Saint Mary's, while Kennisha-Shanice Luberisse added 13 points, eight rebounds, four steals and two assists. Hannah Currie led UNB with a game-high 18 points and nine rebounds in the loss.

Saturday, Nov. 19

Cape Breton 76 at Memorial 71 (Box Score)

The visiting Cape Breton Capers downed the Memorial Sea-Hawks 76-71 Saturday. The Capers were led by Alison Keough who posted a game-high 29 points and 12 rebounds. Colleen Keane added 19 points for Cape Breton.

Sydney Stewart led the Sea-Hawks with a team-high 26 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists and two steals.

UPEI 34 at Saint Mary's 46 (Box Score)

The Huskies earned their second weekend win Saturday in a defensive battle versus the UPEI Panthers. Kennisha-Shanice Luberisse had 13 points, six rebounds and six steals in the win. Angelina Carvery added nine points and six rebounds.

Jane McLaughlin led the Panthers with a game-high 15 points in the loss to go along with six rebounds.

UNB 84 at Acadia 82 OT (Box Score)

The Varsity Reds earned an 84-82 road win in overtime Saturday versus the Acadia Axewomen. Laura Kaye led UNB with 24 points to go along with five rebounds, two assists and a steal. Nicole LaFleur added 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a steal.

Paloma Anderson had a game-high 32 points as well as seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in the loss for Acadia.

Sunday, Nov. 20

Cape Breton 82 at Memorial 71 (Box Score)

The Capers posted their second win over the Memorial Sea-Hawks Sunday in St. John's, N.L. Colleen Keane led the Capers with a double-double. She had 20 points, 12 assists and three steals in the win. Alison Keough had 16 points and seven rebounds.

The Sea-Hawks were once again led by Sydney Stewart who had 20 points, four rebounds, three assists and a block in the loss.
