Season highlights: StFX women's basketball centre/post Kolbi Roper has led the X-Women's defence this season with a team-high 6.4 defensive rebounds per game. Roper has 13 blocks in 13 games so far this season, good for second most in the conference, to go along with 19 steals. According to her coach, her most impressive performances this season have included:
- Nov. 6 vs. UPEI: 14 points, 15 rebounds (12 defensive rebounds), four blocks, two steals
- Nov. 7 vs. UPEI: 19 points, seven rebounds, one steal
- Nov. 28 vs. Dalhousie: 18 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, one block
- Jan. 26 vs. Cape Breton: 18 points, nine rebounds, one steal, one block
Coaches' comments: "Kolbi's size, strength and athleticism have made her one of the best post players in the AUS for the last four seasons. She is a two-time second team AUS all star, yet mainly for her offensive skills. This season we have realized that she is an excellent interior defender. In a season of many tough losses, very rarely have the opposing team's post players dominated Kolbi offensively. This in contrast to seven AUS guards who have scored their season high against our perimeter players. Kolbi is presently third in the AUS in rebounding and second in blocked shots, yet it is her foot work and tenacity guarding opposing posts that has been more impressive. She anchors our man-to-man and zone defences with vocal leadership and athletic prowess. Kolbi is our best individual defender by far."
