(HALIFAX, N.S.) - The Dalhousie Tigers hosted the Memorial Sea-Hawks in an extremely tight game Saturday evening at the Dalplex.

The game remained close, going back and forth between both teams throughout. In the final minutes of the game there seemed to be hope for a Tigers victory with Tessa Stammberger closing the Sea-Hawks' lead to 66-65 with seconds left, but Memorial would ultimately win by one point.

The Tigers started the game off strong and dominated the first quarter, stretching their lead to 10 points. The Sea-Hawks added six more points to lessen the Tigers lead to 18-14 to end the quarter.

The second quarter remained tight with the Sea-Hawks breaking into the biggest lead of the quarter in the final minute, making the game 39-32 to end the half.

After half, the Sea-Hawks came out firing and took a 13-point lead in the first three minutes.

The Tigers were able to claw their way back to take the quarter from the Sea-Hawks 51-50.

The final quarter started off strong defensively for both teams with only two points scored in the first three minutes.

It was an extremely close quarter with the largest lead reaching a mere three points.

AUS leading scorer Courtney Thompson came up huge for the Tigers scoring 10 of her 21 points to keep the Tigers in the game. Unfortunately the Tigers weren't able to finish off the game, leaving the Sea-Hawks to take the hard fought win.

Sandra Amoah and Megan Robinson led the Sea-Hawks to their victory. Amoah scored 16 points and brought down five rebounds, and Robinson made seven assists and added 14 points of her own.

Thompson lead the Tigers offence with 21 points and five assists, along with teammate Stammberger who notched 11 points, five assists and eight rebounds.

The Dalhousie Tigers hosted tonight's game as a Make Some Noise game in partnership with the Student-Athlete Mental Health Initiative.

The goal was to raise awareness about mental illness and the stigma associated with it. The Tigers would like to thank Lawtons and East Coast Lifestyle for sponsoring the event, as well as the Dalhousie Health Promotion team and Mental Health Awareness Committee for participating as well.

The Tigers and Sea-Hawks are back at it Sunday at noon at the Dalplex.
