No. 4-ranked Huskies defeat Capers to improve to 5-0

(SYDNEY, N.S.) - The Cape Breton Capers women's basketball team fell behind early and couldn't recover, dropping a 63-50 decision to the undefeated Saint Mary's Huskies in AUS women's basketball action Friday at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.

Laura Langille had the hot hand for the Huskies, leading all scorers in the game with 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for the CIS No. 4 ranked Huskies.

Justine Colley added 18 points and 10 boards while Lindsay Panchan finished with eight points for the winners.

Tanira McClurkin had 18 points and four steals to lead the Capers, who fell to 1-3 on the season.

Colleen Keane with nine points and Sam Minicucci with eight points were other top scorers for CBU.

The Capers will be back in action Saturday night when they host the Dalhousie Tigers in a 6pm start at the Sullivan Fieldhouse. The Huskies will face the StFX X-Women Saturday evening in Antigonish, also a 6pm tipoff.
