(MONCTON, N.B.) – The Dalhousie Tigers claimed both the men's and women's championship banners at the 2016 Subway AUS Track and Field Championships hosted by the Université de Moncton at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud gym on campus this weekend.

The Dalhousie men's squad earned 151 points and their 14th championship banner in 15 years.

This year, the X-Men claimed second place with 95 points and the UNB Varsity Reds finished third with 72 points.

The host Aigles Bleus' women's team finished in fourth place, while their men's team finished fifth.

Dalhousie's Morgan Hawkes, a senior and academic all-Canadian from Fredericton, N.B., claimed this season's student-athlete community service award. A member of the Tigers' team has earned this honour every year since its inception in 2010-11. Stefen Savoy, a Moncton, N.B. native and third-year arts student from the St. Thomas Tommies, earned the male student-athlete community service award. His win marks the first time a member of a Tommies team has won this award since its inception.

StFX X-Women senior Bridget Brennan, an education student from Beechwood, N.B., was named Subway athlete of the meet on the women's side.

Dalhousie's Jacob Wing, a fifth-year engineering student in his fourth-year of eligibility from Halifax, N.S., earned Subway athlete of the meet honours on the men's side.
