(SYDNEY, N.S.) AUS Rookie of the Year Charlie Waters (Lancashire, England) had a hand in every Capers goal as the undefeated and U SPORTS no. 1-ranked Cape Breton squad downed the Acadia Axemen 5-0 in the Subway AUS Men's Soccer Championship semifinals Friday night in Sydney, N.S.

AUS first team all-star Cory Bent (Preston, England) opened the scoring for Cape Breton just over 10 minutes into the match off an assist from Waters.

Waters followed that up with a goal of his own at 22:28.

Less than two minutes later, Capers captain and AUS second team all-star Stuart Heath (Belfast, Northern Ireland) notched Cape Breton's third goal. Waters earned the assist once again.

He followed up his second assist with his second goal of the game, scoring another insurance goal for the Capers at 38:02 off an assist from second-year midfielder Caelann Budhoo (Winnipeg, Man.).

The Capers took a 4-0 lead into halftime.

Heath notched his second goal of the game at 56:25, off Waters' third assist of the game. It would be the lone marker in the second frame.

Waters earned Subway Player of the Game nods for Cape Breton in the win. Fourth-year midfielder Cooper Coats (Halifax, N.S.) earned the honour for the Axemen in the loss.

The undefeated and championship host Cape Breton Capers now move on to face the UNB Varsity Reds in Sunday's championship final at 2 p.m.
