(HALIFAX, N.S.) - The Tigers fell short of making the AUS playoffs with a 1-0 loss today at the hands of the red hot StFX X-Men, who have now won five in a row.

With the win, the X-Men move into sole possession of third place in the AUS.

Randy Ribeiro opened the scoring for the X-Men in the 28th minute with a screamer of a shot off a free kick that got past a sprawling Jason Ross.

The Tigers pushed hard in the second half but they just couldn't solve the X-Men keepers.

Bezick Evraire was buzzing offensively all game long for the Tigers and he had five shots, including three on target.

They had plenty of chances throughout the game, and co-captain Tyler Lewars played incredibly hard as he tried to will his squad into the playoffs in his final season.

It wouldn't be enough as the X-Men controlled the ball in the final minutes and they walked away with a 1-0 victory.

Although the Tigers are technically in sixth place in the AUS, they will miss the playoffs because Memorial, who are the hosts of the 2014 Subway AUS men's soccer championship, gain an automatic bye into the championship despite being in seventh place. The two teams will face off Sunday at 3:15 p.m. on Wickwire Field.

Dalhousie's Tyler Lewars and StFX's Ryan Ashlee were named the Subway players of the game.
