Reds finish first half of season undefeated

With wins over the Saint Mary's Huskies and Acadia Axemen this weekend, the UNB Reds remain without a regulation loss to end the first half of the AUS men's hockey season.

The Reds visited the Huskies on Friday night in Halifax, skating to a 7-4 victory with Tyler Boland leading the Reds with two powerplay goals and an assist on the night.

UNB then visited the Axemen on Saturday evening, closing off the first half of the season with a 5-1 win. The Reds sit atop the standings, with a 15-0-3 record, accumulating 33 points. 

The Dalhousie Tigers split their games this week, earning a 5-2 victory over the StFX X-Men at home on Wednesday night, then falling 4-1 to the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus on Friday.

The UPEI Panthers three game winning streak came to a hault when they fell 5-2 to the Axemen on Friday evening, however the Panthers bounced back to end the first half of the season with a win, skating to a 4-3 victory over the Huskies on Saturday.

The Aigles Bleus go into the break on a winning note, as they topped the X-Men 3-2 on Saturday evening, to now sit with a 8-7-3 record, and 19 points on the season.
