Panthers win three in a row in men's hockey action

With wins over the Acadia Axemen and Saint Mary's Huskies, the UPEI Panthers extend their win streak to three to continue to move up the AUS men's hockey standings.

The Panthers hosted the Axemen on Friday evening, earning a 4-1 victory with Cody Payne putting up two goals for the home team, earning Subway Player of the Game honours. 

UPEI then hosted the Huskies on Saturday evening, skating to a 4-3 win after posting two goals late in the third.

Gunning for the top spot in the league, the Huskies took down the first place UNB Reds 4-3 in an overtime thriller on Friday evening, with Alexander Peters scoring 1:51 into overtime for the win, handing the Reds their third overtime loss. The Reds remain undefeated in regulation this season. 

On Wednesday evening, the Dalhousie Tigers picked up their third win of the season with a 6-3 win over the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus, with Dalhousie's Andrew Shewfelt earning Subway Player of the Game honours for picking up three assists in the victory.

The Tigers then visited the StFX X-Men on Friday evening, falling 4-1 in Antigonish. The X-Men swept their weekend games, earning a 5-3 win over the Aigles Bleus Saturday night.

The first place Reds capped off their weekend with a huge 6-1 win at home over the Acadia Axemen, scoring four power-play goals in the victory.
