X-Men continue hot streak in AUS men's hockey action

The StFX X-Men continued their hot streak over the weekend, extending their win streak to six to sit towards the top of the AUS men's hockey standings. StFX hosted the Saint Mary's Huskies on Tuesday evening, earning a 2-1 victory, and edged the Acadia Axemen 4-3 shootout victory on Friday night. Third year X-Men forward Matt Needham was credited with the game winning goal in the shootout for the X-Men as he went five-hole on Dawson Carty.

Despite their loss to the X-Men on Friday night, the Acadia Axemen split their games last week, earning a 2-1 win over the Dalhousie Tigers on Tuesday.

The league leading UNB Reds fell 4-3 in a shootout to the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus 4-3 on Tuesday night, then faced the UPEI Panthers on Saturday night. The Reds were leading the Panthers 7-1 with roughly nine minutes left to play in the third period when the arena lost power. After approximately 15 minutes, and with no restoration of power, a decision was made to suspend the game.

The Panthers hosted the Aigles Bleus Friday evening, earning a 3-2 victory at home.
