The UNB Reds and Saint Mary's Huskies both earned sweeps in the opening weekend of AUS men's hockey action. The Reds opened their season with a 4-3 victory over the UPEI Panthers in Fredericton on Friday night, and held off the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus on Saturday night to earn a 5-4 win.
The Huskies opened their season with a 6-1 victory over the Dalhousie Tigers on Friday night, and followed it up with a 5-4 shooutout victory over the StFX X-Men on Saturday night in Antigonish.
After falling to the Dalhousie Tigers on Wednesday night's season opener, the Acadia Axemen earned a 2-1 overtime victory over the StFX X-Men in Antigonish on Friday night.
