(MONCTON, N.B.) - The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus were outplayed by the visiting UNB Varsity Reds (7-1-1) as they fell by a score of 7-2 Friday evening, in an AUS men's hockey game in front of 1,200 spectators at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.

The blue and gold (5-3-1) will need to work hard as they welcome the St. Thomas University Tommies (0-6-3) at 7 p.m. tonight (Saturday) at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena. Moncton has lost its last four games.

Jordan Murray scored twice in the third period and added an assist to lead the Varsity Reds offensive.

Rob Mignardi, Cameron Brace, Taylor MacDougall, Tyler Carroll and Cameron Critchelow, with one each, completed the scoring.

Phillip Hailey had two assists and Randy Gazzola, three. Allain Saulnier (from Pierre Durepos and Alex Saulnier), on a 5-3 power play and Jean-François Plante (from Mitchell Robillard and Allain Saulnier), short-handed, replied for the Aigles Bleus.

Adrien Lemay had 38 shots, including 19 in the first stanza. Chris Carrozzi blocked 20 of 22 shots in the victory.

UNB led 2-0 after one and 4-2 after two periods. They scored twice short-handed and three time on the power play.

"I told the players that if we want to win the Canadian title, we need to find ways to score and beat teams like UNB," coach Serge Bourgeois said following the game. "We had a few chances to get the puck in the net, we missed three breakaways. We have to come back to details and simplified plays to win."
