(MONCTON, N.B.) - The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus overcame a 2-0 deficit and came out with a 4-2 win over the Dalhousie University Tigers in an AUS men's hockey game played Saturday evening in front of over 800 spectators at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.

The win enabled the Aigles Bleus to move into a tie for first place in the standings. Linemates Alex Emond and Alex Saulnier each scored twice, each once on the power play and Emond's second shorthanded, to lead the Blue and Gold (3-0) charge.

Allain Saulnier and Christopher Guay each collected two assists and Samuel Groulx, Mathieu Martin and Pier-Antoine Dion, one each.

Fabian Walsh and Mitch O'Neill worried the Aigles Bleus fan in the first period when they gave their team (0-2-0) a 2-0 lead. The Tigers also had a wide 16-4 advantage on shots on goal in the first.

Moncton took control in the second with a 17-3 domination on shots. Adrien Lemay won his third straight game in goal facing 32 shots while Corbin Bowes stopped 26 shots in the loss for the Tigers.

"This was not our best game, but we did get the two points, we cannot begin games in this league in this manner," said Subway player of the game Alex Saulnier. "We took far too many penalties and that killed us in the first. Lemay played very well and he kept us in the game.

"We did win, we knew that game was not going to be easy," added Moncton head coach Serge Bourgeois. "We were nervous a bit, but the Tigers were ready and they worked harder than us in the first. They had nine power play situations - too many, and I will hold a meeting of my leaders to discuss this."

Moncton had a number of regular players were missing from the lineup due to injuries and other causes, including goaltender Brandon Thibeau, forwards Thierry Comtois and Keven Lévesque, and defencemen Rémi Blanchard and Pierre Durepos. Mathieu Martin, Joël Blanchard and third goaltender, Patrick Earle, were in uniform.

The Aigles Bleus will host the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.

The Tigers will host the Saint Mary's Huskies in an all-Halifax battle, also Wednesday at 7 p.m.
