AUS Men's Basketball Weekly Round Up: Week 6

Acadia 82 vs. StFX 66 (Box Score)
(ANTIGONISH, N.S.) The Acadia Axemen earned an 82-66 road victory over the StFX X-Men in Atlantic University Sport basketball action Wednesday on Coach K Court at Oland Centre. Off the bench, Subway player of the game Erik Nissen recorded a double-double, including a game-high 20 points, along with 10 rebounds. With six dishes, the Acadia forward also led all players in assists. Kevin Bercy finshed the night with a double-double for the X-Men, with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while adding three assists. Memorial 82 vs. Dalhousie 89 (Box Score)
(HALIFAX, N.S.) In the first day of a back-to-back matchup, the Dalhousie Tigers hosted the Memorial Sea-Hawks at the Dalplex Friday evening. After a tightly contested first half, the Tigers were able to gain an edge in the third quarter an hang on to earn the 88-82 win. Sven Stammberger led the Tigers in points with 22, adding 11 reboubds, while teammate Ryan Harnett was named as the Subway Player of the Game, finishing with 14 points, with 12 of them coming from beyond the arc. Davion Parnsalu was the high scorer for Memorial with a game-high 24 points. Read more: Recap 

Saint Mary's 86 vs. UPEI 68 (Box Score)
(CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I.) Behind a strong third quarter, in which they outscored their opponent by 13, the Saint Mary's Huskies took care of business against the UPEI Panthers earning a 86-68 victory Friday night. Subway Player of the Game, Kemar Alleyne scored a game-high 22 points, to go along with nine rebounds to propel his team to victory. Amin Suleman led the Panthers in points in their loss with 15. UNB 100 vs. Cape Breton 74 (Box Score)
(SYDNEY, N.S.) The Cape Breton University Capers dropped the first of their two games this weekend, losing 100-74 to the league-leading UNB Varsity Reds. Javon Masters led all scorers, dropping 32 points on 12-20 shooting. Ibrahima Doumbouya had 11 points, making him the only other Varsity Red to have a double digits point total. Paul Watson was the top scorer for the Capers in the loss with 19. Read more: Recap

Memorial 94 vs. Dalhousie 102 (OT) (Box Score)
(HALIFAX, N.S.) Completing the two game mini-series of the weekend, the Dalhousie Tigers once again took on the Memorial Sea-Hawks at the Dalplex. In a high-scoring game that couldn't be solved through regulation, the Tigers came out on top, doubling up Memorial in the overtime frame and taking the 102-94 win. Jordan Aquino-Serjue led the Tigers in their victory with 23 points, while Daniel Gordon scored a fame-high 35 points for the Sea-Hawks in their loss. Read more: Recap

UNB 114 vs. Cape Breton 93 (Box Score)
(SYDNEY, N.S.) The Cape Breton Capers were unable to keep up to the league-leading UNB Varsity Reds Saturday afternoon, losing 114-93. Javon Masters went off for 37 points for the Varsity Reds, while Martin Campbell countered for Cape Breton with 37 points of his own. Read more: Recap   

Saint Mary's 84 vs. UPEI 67 (Box Score)
(CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I.) The UPEI Panthers battled until the end, but the Saint Mary's Huskies put the hammer down late in the fourth to take the game 84-67. Subway Player of the Game, Kemar Alleyne one-upped his performance from the night before with a game-high 31 points, to go along with eight rebounds and four assists in Saturday night's tilt. Moshe Wadley led the Panthers in the loss with 13 points and four rebounds. Read more: Recap

StFX 73 vs. Acadia 75 (Box Score)
(WOLFVILLE, N.S.) A two-point fadeaway shot from Acadia's Erik Nissen with just 2.7 seconds remaining in the game handed the Axemen a 75-73 win over the visiting StFX X-Men Saturday evening. Nissen finished with 16 points on the night, adding six rebounds and two assists, while teammate Ben Miller led Acadia with 19 points, addings six rebounds, seven assists, and four steals to earn Subway Player of the Game honours. StFX was led by Kevin Bercy, who had a game-high 22 points in the loss, adding 12 rebounds. Read more: Recap
