AUS Men's Basketball Weekly Round Up: Week 5

Acadia 67 vs. UNB 80 (4-point game) (Box Score)
(FREDERICTON, N.B.) The UNB Varsity Reds began the 2018 portion of their Atlantic University Sport season on a winning note. Newcomer Cooper Wilks came off the bench to score 16 points, leading the Varsity Reds in an 80-67 win over the visiting Acadia Axemen. Ogot Ogot, another new addition to the Varsity Reds line-up, scored 14 points, as did fifth-year forward Dylan Baker. Baker was named the Subway Player of the Game. Ben Miller scored a game-high 18 points for the Axemen in their loss, with teammate Erik Nissen adding nine rebounds. Read more: Recap

UPEI 72 vs. StFX 102 (4-point game) (Box Score)
(ANTIGONISH, N.S.) The StFX X-Men handled the winless UPEI Panthers by a 102-72 score in AUS basketball action Saturday night at the StFX Oland Centre. The X-Men were led by Justin Andrew, who posted 19 points in the victory, while Samy Mohamed posted a game-high 26 points for the Panthers. Read more: Recap

Dalhousie 81 vs. Saint Mary's (4-point game) (Box Score)
(HALIFAX, N.S.) The Saint Mary's Huskies lost to the visiting Dalhousie Tigers 81-71 on Saturday night from the Homburg Centre. Saint Mary's guard Nikita Kasongo paced all scorers with 32 points in the loss and shot 13-19 from the foul-line. Sven Stammberger added a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds for Dathe Tigers while teammate Xavier Ochu had 16 points off the bench and Alex Carson added 14. Cape Breton 73 vs. Memorial 88 (4-point game) (Box Score)
(ST. JOHN'S, N.L.) The Memorial Sea-Hawks started 2018 on the right foot, with an 88-73 victory over the Cape Breton Capers on Sunday afternoon. Daniel Gordon was named Subway Player of the Game for the Sea-Hawks, after posting a game-high 30 points.
