Forward Dut Dut of the UPEI Panthers men's basketball team is the Wilsons Security Defensive Player of the Week.
A second-year arts student in his fifth year of eligibility, Dut currently leads the Atlantic conference in rebounds with 119 on the season. He is second in rebounds per game, averaging 10.8.
In Friday's 90-81 win over the Cape Breton Capers, Dut led the Panthers with 12 rebounds, including nine defensive rebounds, to go along with seven points and an assist.
Saturday, UPEI downed the top-ranked StFX X-Men 95-94. Dut had another four defensive rebounds and a block for the Panthers' defence, as well as 19 points in the win.
He currently leads the Panthers in defensive rebounds per game, averaging 6.7, as well as in steals per game (1.5) and blocks per game (1.1).
UPEI will take to the court again this weekend when they host the Acadia Axemen Friday night at 8 p.m. and the Saint Mary's Huskies Saturday night at 8 p.m. in Charlottetown, P.E.I.
