Week 2 AUS Football Players of the Week: Scott, Angove and Burnham honoured

(HALIFAX, N.S.) Quarterback Kaleb Scott and defensive back Jordan Angove, both from the Saint Mary's Huskies, along with StFX X-Men kicker/punter Keiran Burnham, have been selected as the Week 2 AUS football players of the week for their respective performances this past weekend.

Height and weight: 6'3", 190 lbs

Saint Mary's Huskies quarterback Kaleb Scott is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Sept. 2, 2018.

A third-year sociology student from Mount Albert, Ont., Scott had 247 passing yards and a passing touchdown, along with 86 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, in the Huskies' 42-19 win over the Bishop's Gaiters Saturday.

Scott currently leads the Atlantic conference with 455 passing yards in two games played this season.

Saint Mary's Huskies defensive back Jordan Angove has been named the AUS football defensive player of the week.

A second-year commerce student from Prince George, B.C., Angove had two interceptions for the Huskies defence in Saint Mary's 42-19 win over Bishop's Saturday afternoon in Lennoxville, Que. He returned one interception 53 yards for a touchdown.

He also had two solo tackles, one assisted tackle and a pass break up in the win.

Position: Kicker/Punter
Hometown: Cambridge, Ont.
Year of eligibility: Third
Academic program: BA
Height and weight: 6'2", 185 lbs

St. Francis Xavier punter and kicker Keiran Burnham is the AUS football special teams player of the week for the week ending Sept. 2, 2018.

A third-year arts student from Cambridge, Ont., Burnham amassed 393 yards on nine punts and 228 yards on four kick-offs (for a punting average of 43.7 and a kick-off average of 57.0) in StFX's 30-24 overtime win over Acadia on Friday night in Antigonish, N.S.

Five of his punts were downed inside the 20. He was also successful on all three extra-point kicks in the win.
