Week 7 AUS Football Players of the Week: Reid, Halstead and Lambert honoured

(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Running back Chris Reid, linebacker Damian Halstead and kicker Ryan Lambert, all from the Mount Allison Mounties, have been selected as the Week 7 AUS football players of the week for their respective performances this past weekend.

Mount Allison Mounties running back Chris Reid is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Oct. 8, 2017.

A fourth-year commerce student from Brampton, Ont., Reid had 27 carries for 194 rushing yards and a touchdown in Mount Allison's 32-15 victory over the StFX X-Men Saturday in Sackville, N.B.

He also had two receptions for 18 yards receiving in the win.

Mount Allison Mounties linebacker Damian Halstead has been named the AUS football defensive player of the week.

A fourth-year sociology student in his third year of eligibility from Brampton, Ont., Halstead had two sacks in the Mounties' 32-15 win over the StFX X-Men Saturday.

He finished the game with two tackles for loss and 17 total loss yards. His defensive stats also included 4.5 total tackles (four solo and one assisted).

Academic program: BA Environmental Studies
Height and weight: 5'9", 180lbs

Mount Allison Mounties kicker Ryan Lambert has been named the AUS football special teams player of the week.

A fifth-year environmental studies student in his fourth-year of eligibility from Grimsby, Ont., Lambert had 14 points in Mount Allison's win over StFX Saturday.

He made good on four out of four field goal attempts and two of three point-after attempts.

His stats also included seven punts for 177 yards and four kickoffs for 179 yards.
