(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Saint Mary's Huskies quarterback Kaleb Scott, along with defensive tackle Adam Melanson and kicker Jarett Saumure, both from the Acadia Axemen, have been selected as the Week 6 AUS football players of the week for their respective performances this past weekend.
Offensive Player of the Week

Saint Mary's Huskies quarterback Kaleb Scott is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Oct. 1, 2017.
A third-year arts student from Mount Albert, Ont., Scott went 22 for 33 for 288 yards passing and a passing touchdown in the Huskies' 22-21 come-from-behind victory over the StFX X-Men Saturday in Antigonish, N.S.
His stats also included 10 carries for 68 yards and a rushing touchdown in the win.
This is the second consecutive week Scott has earned this award as the top offensive player in the conference.
Defensive Player of the Week
Name: Adam Melanson
University: Acadia University
Position: Defensive tackle
Hometown: Kentville, N.S.
Year of eligibility: Fifth
Academic program: BEd
Height and weight: 6'0", 293 lbs
Acadia Axemen defensive tackle Adam Melanson has been named the AUS football defensive player of the week.
A fifth-year education student from Kentville, N.S., Melanson had 2.5 sacks in Acadia's 33-14 win over the Mount Allison Mounties.
He finished the game with four tackles for loss and 19 total loss yards. His defensive stats also included 5.5 total tackles (three solo and five assisted).
Following this past weekend's win, Melanson has now amassed 16.5 career sacks—the ninth most in AUS conference history and the fifth most in Acadia school history.

A first-year kinesiology student from Timberlea, N.S., Saumure was successful on all four of his field goal attempts in Acadia's 33-14 win over the Mount Allison Mounties Saturday in Wolfville, N.S.
He also made good on all three point-after attempts for 15 total points in the win.
