Week 3 AUS Football Players of the Week: LeBlanc, Herbst and Samadi honoured

(HALIFAX, N.S.) - Running back Quinn LeBlanc of the Mount Allison Mounties, and linebacker Brad Herbst and kicker/punter Ideen Samadi, both of the Saint Mary's Huskies have been selected as the Week 3 AUS football players of the week for their performances this past weekend.

Running back Quinn LeBlanc of the Mount Allison Mounties is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Sept. 27, 2015.

A second-year commerce student from Calgary, Alta., LeBlanc had six receptions for 89 total yards and a touchdown in Mount Allison's 31-7 loss to the Sherbrooke Vert et Or Saturday in Sackville, N.B.

His stats also included 18 rushing yards on four carries for the Mounties.

Linebacker Brad Herbst of the Saint Mary's Huskies is the Atlantic University Sport football defensive player of the week.

A second-year criminology student from Ottawa, Ont., Herbst posted 7.5 tackles (six solo and three assisted) in the Huskies 23-17 loss to the Bishop's Gaiters Saturday in Halifax, N.S.

Herbst had a sack for a loss of 12 yards in the matchup and also posted a pass breakup.

Height and weight: 5'11", 190lbs

Kicker and punter Ideen Samadi of the Saint Mary's Huskies is the Atlantic University Sport football special teams player of the week.

A first-year arts student from Edmonton, Alta., Samadi had 12 punts for 372 yards (31.0 average) in Saturday's 23-17 loss to Bishop's as well as five kickoffs for 248 yards (49.6 average).

The freshman made good on his lone field goal attempt for 23 yards and was also successful on both extra-point kicks for five total points in the matchup.
