Tigers lose to Aigles Bleus

MONCTON  Goaltender Étienne Montpetit blocked 36 shots and Maxime St-Cyr scored twice in the third period to lead Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus to a 3-0 win against Dalhousie University Tigers, Saturday evening at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in front of over 550 spectators, in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game 

It was a first game the Blue and Gold (9-7-3=21 points, 4th position) team after the Holidays while the Tigers (6-14-0=12pts, 7th position) were in their third game of the week. The visitors began the game as Tigers, leading 20-8 in shots on goal in the first period. But it was the Aigles Bleus that took the lead 1-0 on a goal by Robbie Graham (Marc-Anthony Therrien, Victor Beaulactaking advantage of a melee in front of the net. There was no second period scoring, but the local team took over leading 15-in shots on goal and both goaltenders doing their job wellMoncton scored twice in the third period on 12 shots, both by St-Cyr, the first on the power play and the second in an open net at the end. Reilly Pickard registered the loss in nets with 35 shots. Moncton was 1 for on the power play and Dalhousie, 0 for 4. 

The Blue and Gold will travel to Halifax on Wednesday to play Saint Mary's University Huskies (12-7-1=25pts, 2nd position), at the ForumDalhousie will host first place UNB Reds on Friday.
